DO YOU REALLY
NEED ALL THAT?
LESS HAS NEVER MEANT MORE
You can only wear so much
At Colorful Standard, we believe in a future where overconsumption is replaced by a more responsible way of living. Seasonal sales like Black Friday, rely on a business model with overproduction and hidden margins - that is not what we are about. Instead, we believe in offering high-quality and long-lasting products at a fair price, all year round.
This holiday season, we invite you to take a stand. Why? Because you can only wear so much, and the future of our planet depends on it!
We know that the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of the world's carbon emissions, but more recent studies show that 80% of Black Friday purchases end up in a landfill after just one, or zero uses.
Ask yourself, do you really need all that?
Let's buy less, and buy better
The good news is, we can make a change! Together, we can say no to overconsumption by buying less and buying better, higher-quality, longer-lasting, and more sustainable clothes.
We’ve brought together a few members from our Colorful Community to share the reasons why they've joined us in taking a stand against overconsumption.

"If I can, in any way, influence people to take overconsumption seriously, I will. It’s a big problem and issue generally, but especially in how we conduct ourselves in buying goods. Buying fewer but better products will decrease the number of unnecessary materials used in global production."

"I wanted to be part of this interesting and unique campaign, because of its strong and eye opening message. Fast fashion is getting worse and worse, and I feel like more brands should pay close attention to this topic. We should all prioritize quality over quantity."

"Taking a stand against Black Friday is important to me because I want to be a part of the movement that stops normalizing overconsumption. I want a better tomorrow for my son and for him to have a healthy planet to grow up on. We are role models and we need to step up our game for a better future. We don’t need more than what is enough."

"I wanted to be part of this campaign because it's important to show that we are overconsuming when we have enough. In my personal life, I've always bought clothes from second-hand stores, and as a kid, I got clothes from cousins and uncles. If I can do it, you can do it!"

"I really want to contribute to saving the planet. The fashion industry is one of the main reasons the climate is not getting better, so I was so excited to back up Colorful Standard, take a stand, and think “Do I really need ten beanies?” If I can help inspire just one, over consuming fashionista,to shop more mindfully, I think we will slowly but surely save the planet!"

"Black Friday is bad news for the environment, and ultimately our planet pays the price. I wanted to be a part of this campaign to show that Black Friday creates a mentality, which encourages people to buy things that they don’t even desire or love that much… Do you really need that sweater in six different colors?"
